Job Title
L3 Data Center Tech - B Side Night
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Level 3 Data Center Technician to join our IT team. The role focuses on maintaining the data center’s IT system, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services.
Job Schedule B side Nights: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & every other Wednesday 6pm-6am
Responsibilities
Perform Level 1 and Level 2 tasks as needed.
Move and install servers and switches, inspecting them for damage and following wire maps.
Bundle cables neatly, double‑check connections with network admins, and install additional components (NIC, drive, memory).
Assist in unboxing and preparing servers, audit consumables, and troubleshoot a variety of server issues.
Order replacement parts, install firmware updates, and configure IP addresses and default login credentials.
Work with network admins on cable damage, re‑routing, optics replacement, and component upgrades.
Setup temporary rack and stack configurations for remote login and configuration.
Deploy and configure GPUs, performing break‑fix tasks for GPU failures.
Provide advanced troubleshooting support and resolution of tickets.
Serve as the initial contact/liaison between team members and management.
Prioritize and manage workload across the team and monitor project deadlines.
Ensure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.
Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Flexibility to work non‑standard hours, weekends and holidays.
Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds, climb ladders, wear personal protective gear, and stand/walk for extended periods.
4+ years of experience in a hyperscale environment.
Skills & Experience
CompTIA A+ or equivalent, CompTIA Server+ or equivalent, CCENT, Windows OS experience.
CCNA preferred, MCP/MSCE preferred.
PowerShell, Python, Bash scripting experience.
Structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber optics, copper cabling.
Storage device understanding, ITIL framework familiarity.
Network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1‑3), GPU deployment and troubleshooting.
OSHA‑30 or higher certification.
Employment Details Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI. Pay $36.30/hr. Eligible benefits include medical, dental & vision, critical illness, accident, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, EAP, and paid time off.
