The Role… We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to help lead $7M–$15M+ heavy civil construction projects from start-up through closeout. This is a true field operations leadership role, not a desk-based position. The APM is responsible for jobsite execution, including safety, quality, schedule, cost control, subcontractor performance, and client delivery, with direct exposure to full Project Manager responsibilities in active construction environments.
What you will be doing:
Manage budget, schedule, cost control, and labor productivity
Lead daily coordination with Superintendents & subcontractors
Approve pay apps, invoices, and field costs
Enforce OSHA & company safety programs
Interface with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
Act as Project Manager when required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related
2–5+ years as a Project Engineer or APM
Experience on $7M+ construction projects
Strong background in:
Cost control & billing
Subcontractor management
Ability to travel nationwide on rotation
Preferred Background
Infrastructure
Waterfront, dock, drydock, or structural concrete projects
