Shift: Full‑time day shift 7:00am-3:30pm Overview

Northwest Hospital’s main operating room (Main OR) provides innovative surgical services on both inpatient and outpatients. The main surgical suite consists of a new exquisite pre‑and post‑operative area, five operating rooms, one cysto suite, and a new endoscopy suite. The main operating room cares for approximately 480 surgical patients a month. Surgical services employees provide excellent care to their patients and follow Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nursing Practice (ASPAN) standards of care. Surgical staff must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms. Job Summary

As a member of the surgical team, provides technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN within the Surgical Services department. When not directly assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Surgical Assistant Coordinator or Registered Nurse. Requirements

Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate’s degree (2 years of college) and specialized field knowledge. Passage of the certifying examination administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist within 12 months. 1‑3 years of experience in surgical technology. Surgical Technologist Certification or completion of an accredited course. American Heart Association CPR Certification. Additional Information
