Intermediate Business Analyst (Financial Systems) – San Antonio, TX
We are a fast‑growing cyber defense contractor in San Antonio, TX seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst to independently manage recurring corporate reporting deliverables and oversee travel and expense operations. This role requires strong judgment, advanced Microsoft application skills, and the ability to operate autonomously while regularly interfacing with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Prefer outcome‑based work over micromanagement
Own the process end‑to‑end and interact confidently with executives and staff
Identify errors, inefficiencies, or risks before others do
Produce high‑quality, compliant deliverables; independently review, format, finalize, and submit monthly technical status reports
Own preparation and quality assurance of monthly financial deliverables, including Contract Funds Status Reports (CFSR) and Financial Management and Hourly Expenditure Reports (FMHER)
Ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and professional presentation of all deliverables
Coordinate inputs and resolve discrepancies with program managers and leadership
Manage the end‑to‑end travel and expense process using Unanet; serve as primary point of contact for travel‑and‑expense questions
Maintain compliance with company policy and government contract requirements
Identify trends, issues, or process improvements and recommend solutions
Maintain and improve reporting templates and workflows; manage Microsoft Lists used for tracking and reporting
Utilize advanced Microsoft Word and Excel features to improve efficiency and quality
Support continuous improvement of corporate operations processes
Interface regularly with senior management, program managers, and staff; communicate clearly about deadlines, corrections, and requirements
Exercise discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive information
Qualifications
3–7+ years of experience in an administrative, operations, or support role
Advanced Microsoft Word (styles, sections, master/sub‑documents) and advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, protected sheets, print‑ready formatting)
Experience managing Microsoft Lists or similar data‑tracking tools
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines independently, and work remotely with guidance
Experience with travel and expense processing; experience using Unanet or Microsoft Lists
Exposure to government contracting or regulated environments
Experience supporting senior leadership or executives
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass background checks for work on government contracts
Location and Schedule Location – San Antonio, TX
Schedule – Hybrid onsite every Wednesday and Thursday (not fully remote)
