Overview of HR Generalist Position:

We are looking for a skilled HR Generalist to enhance employee relations, ensure compliance, oversee payroll, facilitate onboarding, provide training, and boost employee engagement within our mission-driven autism therapy organization. This hybrid role based in Plano, TX, will serve as a key HR contact and a reliable partner for managers, interpreting employment laws, leading investigations, and driving HR projects and process enhancements. Candidates should possess 3 to 5 years of HR generalist experience, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Role Overview

We are in search of a seasoned HR Generalist to assist with employee relations, compliance, payroll management, and enhancing the overall employee experience. This role is people-oriented and decision-intensive, acting as a trusted advisor to both managers and employees while guiding HR processes and initiatives throughout the organization.

You will collaborate closely with HR leadership and operational partners to foster a compliant, consistent, and engaging workplace.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers.
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation, performance issues, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist with employee relations matters and investigations, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Manage or assist with payroll processes and reviews (final ownership will depend on team structure).
  • Support onboarding, training initiatives, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Contribute to employee engagement programs, surveys, and action planning.
  • Lead or assist with HR projects, process improvements, and change initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or People Operations role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance and employment law.
  • Experience in payroll processes and employee relations.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
