POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Interior Designer (Sr. ID) is responsible for defining the scope of work through assessing the client's needs, requirements, and design/décor style. This position will provide design expertise and recommendations to clients including concept development, field measurements, space planning, generating visual plan layouts and sourcing products, materials, and accessories. The Sr. ID will be tasked with attending client meetings and creating client presentations while working towards multiple deadlines. Additionally, this position will assist the Director of Interior Design (DID) in providing additional oversight for the interior design staff, ensuring that interior designers are being trained and mentored and that the needs and progress of the interior design staff are being reported. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management (60%)

Attend all internal and client meetings which include but are not limited to, discovery, debrief, pre-design, and re-cap meetings, cabinet sign-off meetings, project team meetings, project end of design (EOD) meetings, and miscellaneous job site meetings;

Provide clear, written communication to the project team after key meetings and when needed to keep the team up to date on related items;

Collaborate with clients on design factors to achieve the client's goals with the highest level of quality and finish;

Analyze clients needs and specifications to make sure the project is finished in accordance with the timeline and budget;

Correspond with clients in a proactive manner to ensure they are always up to date;

Obtain bids for allowance items and communicate with the estimating department to get costs uploaded into Builder Trend (BT);

Coordinate with the estimating department to ensure all costs and orders have been sourced and approved appropriately;

Coordinate with the project managers and trade partners to ensure a smooth build process;

Read, interpret, review, and make corrections to finished interior design plans as needed per the scope of work and have a clear understanding of change orders;

Use design software to create models and visuals;

Create tile drawings and order various materials;

Organize and maintain project information in project folders on the server; and

Submit weekly project updates to the DID.

Team Management (20%)

Provide training and mentoring to the Junior Interior Designers (Jr. ID) and interior design staff;

Make sure selections are input into the selection's management software with accurate descriptions and costs adhering to the company's best practices and procedures;

Ensure that selection meetings are being scheduled and held in a timely manner; and

Ensure all selections are approved in selections management software prior to EOD meetings.

Administration (20%)

Perform data entry into selections management software and BT, which include but are not limited to setting up project templates, adding plumbing and appliance specs, and adding all selections;

Attend trade shows to keep up to date on the latest design trends, materials, lighting, and other related products;

Research products and materials as needed to support the design team on technical issues influencing concept development; and

Ensure the selections library is current, relevant, and cutting edge.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Design and Architecture; Required

CERTIFICATIONS, Licenses, and Registrations

Certified Interior Designer; Preferred

CA Driver's License; Required propo

WORK EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of management experience within the industry; Required

KEY SKILLS SET

Strong customer service skills;

є good understanding of basic design principles;

Must have a high level of current product knowledge in the marketplace, including but not limited to flooring, tile, countertops, paint, plumbing, appliances, and electrical;

Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality;

Ability to balance multiple projects;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Be fluent in the English language;

Working knowledge of all standard office equipment;

PDF – Xchange for PDF creation;

Builder Trend, construction management software;

Sketch UP, 3D modeling application;

AutoCAD, 2D and 3D modeling application;
