The Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for a

non‑tenure track Research Assistant Professor

position. This appointment is focused on conducting research examining the role of immune cells in normal and diabetic wound healing.

Position Summary Research Assistant Professor position in the Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition focused on understanding the role of immune cells in normal and diabetic wound healing.

Key Responsibilities Applicant will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments focused on understanding the role of immune cells in normal and diabetic wound healing. These will involve mouse models of wound healing, single cell RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, and histological analysis to elucidate novel immune pathways that contribute to normal and impaired healing. Importantly, these experiments should lead to dissemination via publication in peer‑reviewed scientific journals and presentations at national and international scientific conferences.

The applicant will also be responsible for generating ideas, preparing, and submitting new grant applications.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications PhD in Kinesiology or Nutrition or a related field. Minimum of

5 years of post‑doctoral or related experience . Extensive experience with mouse models of wound healing, flow cytometry, cell sorting, histological analysis, and single cell RNAseq, includingarelational analyses

downstream Analases. Supervisory experience also required.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
