As a Tapping Operator at MacLean-Fogg’s Saegertown facility, you will play an important role in the final stages of our precision manufacturing process. You will be responsible for operating tapping machines to thread parts to exact specifications, ensuring high-quality output for industries such as aerospace, military, automotive, and industrial. Job Details

Position Type:

Hourly, Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Shifts:

Shift 1: 7:00am – 3:00pm

Shift 2: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Shift 3: 11:00pm – 7:00am

Pay Range:

$16.00 - $21.00/hour (depending on skills and experience)

Shift Differential:

+$1.00/hour for 2nd shift and +$0.75 for 3rd shift

Work Location:

Onsite - Saegertown, Pennsylvania, 16433

Key Responsibilities

Operate tapping machines to thread internal or external parts to precise tolerances.

Set up and adjust machines based on work orders, blueprints, or part specifications.

Monitor and inspect parts during production for thread quality, dimensions, and defects using appropriate gauging tools.

Ensure consistent operation of equipment, reporting malfunctions or unusual conditions immediately.

Perform minor machine maintenance and tooling changes as needed.

Accurately complete production documentation and follow traveler instructions.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with 5S standards.

Support plant safety policies and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies

Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.

Comfort with handling small components and precision measuring tools.

Basic understanding of threading operations and mechanical processes.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively.

Willingness to learn and cross-train on additional machines or processes.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

Previous machine operation experience strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

Demonstrated work history with steady employment and minimal gaps.

Proven reliability and punctuality to support production schedules.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Required to stand for extended periods.

Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.

Frequent bending and stooping required.

Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.

Must be able to work in noisy environments.
