Volunteer Chore Program - Rides to Medical Appointments

Help seniors remain independent in their own homes!

The Volunteer Chore Program needs volunteers to assist seniors and people with disabilities with transportation to essential medical appointments. We reimburse driver mileage at .45 cents per mile (mileage begins when volunteer leaves their home and ends when they return home). We can work with your schedule, sign up only for rides you are available for. You can make a difference in someone’s life, and be the reason that they are able to get the essential medical care that they need. Do you love to help people in your community? Sign up today, or contact chore@whatcomvolunteer.org for more information. The Volunteer Chore Program serves both Island and Whatcom counties. The program connects volunteers to low‑income older adults (60 and over) and adults with functional disabilities to help them remain independent in their own homes. The program matches individual volunteers with community members, including veterans, who need help with free access to day‑to‑day chores such as yard care, grocery shopping, prescription pickup, dog walking, and housekeeping. Location: Oak Harbor, WA Schedule: Ongoing Apply online: https://www.whatcomvolunteer.org/chore-volunteer-online-application/ More information: https://www.whatcomvolunteer.org/volunteer-chore-program/
