Job Summary The Logistics and Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments to support engine maintenance operations. This role ensures that parts, tools, and materials are shipped, received, documented, tracked, and transported accurately in compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable FAA and regulatory standards. The position supports production schedules by maintaining timely, accurate, and traceable logistics processes across the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and process domestic and international shipments in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of aircraft parts, engines, tooling, and materials.

Verify shipping documentation, including packing slips, airway bills, export paperwork, and certifications.

Ensure proper packaging, preservation, and labeling of parts to prevent damage and maintain airworthiness.

Enter and maintain shipping and receiving data accurately in the ERP system (e.g., Quantum).

Track shipments and communicate status updates to internal departments as needed.

Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to meet delivery timelines.

Support compliance with export control, hazardous materials, and transportation regulations as applicable.

Assist with inventory movement documentation and maintain full traceability records.

Operate a forklift to safely move aircraft parts, materials, and tooling between departments on the shop floor, and to load and unload delivery vehicles in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.

Perform other logistics-related duties as assigned.

SMS Responsibilities

Be familiar with the company’s safety policies, procedures, and tools relevant to their responsibilities.

Understand and use the confidential employee reporting system.

Complete all required training and maintain competence for assigned tasks.

Use proper tools, equipment, and approved technical data to perform work safely.

Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Immediately report all emergencies, incidents, accidents, and identified hazards to their supervisor or manager, as well as to the Quality/Safety Department.

Communicate safety-related information that could help prevent mishaps or improve operational safety.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 1–3 years of experience in logistics, shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.

Experience in an aviation, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Familiarity with ERP systems (Quantum preferred) and shipping software.

Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in shipping, receiving, and documentation.

Ability to follow written procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems (Quantum preferred).

Good organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Forklift certification preferred (training and certification may be provided by the company upon hire).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs.

Regular operation of a forklift and movement of materials throughout the shop floor.

Work near industrial equipment, moving vehicles, and active maintenance areas.

Exposure to chemicals, packaging materials, and shop environments typical of logistics operations.

Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
