The
Painter / Stainer Helper
supports our finishing team by preparing, painting, and staining custom cabinet components that cannot be processed through automated equipment. This role ensures high-quality finishes that meet our standards and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, paint, and stain custom cabinet parts using spray guns and related equipment. Select, open, rotate, label, and properly store paints, stains, and coatings. Follow finishing specifications, color matches, and samples to maintain quality standards. Inspect parts before and after finishing to ensure a consistent, defect-free appearance. Set up, maintain, and clean spray equipment, tools, and work area. Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE and adherence to Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding schedules, issues, and improvements. Report equipment problems or safety concerns promptly to management. Work efficiently to meet production goals while maintaining quality and accuracy. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with painting, staining, or wood finishing in a shop or production setting. Ability to safely handle, move, and protect wood products and finished components. Basic math skills for measuring, mixing, and verifying quantities. Ability to read and follow work orders, labels, safety information, and finishing specifications in English. Experience in construction, woodworking, or manufacturing preferred. Familiarity with power tools, spray equipment, and material handling tools. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and ability to manage time and priorities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening consistent with company policy and applicable law. Physical Requirements:
Regularly stand and walk for extended periods while performing finishing tasks. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and finished cabinet components up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements, including grasping and reaching. Read labels, work orders, measurement devices, and computer or production screens regularly. Wear required personal protective equipment, including closed-toe shoes, eye and ear protection, and a respirator as assigned. Maintain respirator fit testing and related requirements, as applicable.
