Summary The Janitor keeps rooms throughout the building in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions

Cleans and dries Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by operating industrial washer and dryer.

Inspects PPE prior to wash to determine if replacement is needed.

Notifies maintenance workers of equipment malfunctions.

Cleans and polishes building fixtures and trim.

Cleans and sanitizes conference rooms, lab areas, break rooms, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, kitchens, and other work areas.

Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, vacuums, and polishes floor.

Washes windows, walls, door panels, and sills.

Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.

Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Replenishes bathroom and break room supplies.

Prunes and waters indoor plants.

Cleans parking lot in the Summer.

Maintains Janitorial cleaning records.

Monitors break room and cleaning supplies and places monthly order for replenishments.

Cleans up areas contaminated with bodily fluids according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $19.35-$22.99 per hour.

Experience and Qualifications

A minimum of 6 months experience providing janitorial service in a food production facility.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee is regularly required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

regularly up to 5 pounds

frequently up to 10 pounds

occasionally up to 30 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
