Job Description QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current Food Handlers Card.
Ability to communicate and work well with others.
Registered Food Service Manager Certification required.
REPORTS TO Child Nutrition Coordinator
JOB GOAL Prepares and serves food to students, staff, and public. Responsible for the supervision, training and management of the food service operation on school site.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served in a safe, friendly and courteous manner. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal child nutrition regulations.
Processes Household Income Applications.
Supervises employees in food preparation, service and storage operations within the kitchen.
Demonstrates effective management of operation by being actively involved in the food production and cleaning duties. Maintains inventory and order food and/or supplies according to department schedules.
Meets all deadlines for ordering, payroll, and reporting as designated by Child Nutrition Services.
Manages and is responsible for directing all kitchen clean‑up, trash and recycling removal.
Receives, stores, and handles food and supplies as per district standards while following all health department regulations. Manages and is responsible for presenting quality food in an attractive manner on a daily basis.
Ensures all food items are served as per menu specifications and department expectations.
Ensures that all food temperatures are maintained according to specifications.
Prepares and maintains accurate written daily and monthly records, reports for financials, production, and inventories.
Operates and trains employees on appropriate safety procedures with the use and maintenance of equipment for daily operations.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.
