> Location Requirements DCY’s core hours of operation are Mon‑Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions. Employees may begin as early as 7:00am & as late as 9:00am, based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCY’s office space.

Job Description DCY is seeking a cloud expert to design, develop, and drive innovative cloud solutions and strategy across the agency.

Key Responsibilities – Cloud Solutions & Engineering

Design and develop DCY IT cloud solutions; act as subject matter expert for cloud architecture.

Lead technical discussions on architecture and implementation.

Support application rationalization, vendor interactions, and cloud service procurements.

Collaborate with engineers to ensure best practices across the cloud portfolio.

Apply Digital Architecture standards; negotiate and document tradeoffs as needed.

Implement security guardrails and frameworks; uphold cloud security best practices.

Define technical drivers for procurement activities; evaluate vendor responses.

Participate in cloud governance activities.

Key Responsibilities – Cloud Strategy

Develop and drive the end‑to‑end technical roadmap for DCY cloud services.

Align cloud strategy with business objectives, industry standards, and technical drivers.

Provide technical oversight for infrastructure‑as‑code templates to meet Enterprise Architecture standards.

Recommend new procedures and approaches; document tradeoffs.

Support annual cloud portfolio planning with DAS OIT and Strategic Investment & Architecture team.

Collaborate with IT leadership (CIO, CTO, Architects, Managers) to design solutions that meet agency needs.

Contribute to business case development and solution analysis.

Work with vendors and agencies to solve integration challenges.

Conduct training and mentorship for peers and junior staff.

Pay Information Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.

Qualifications 60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current it policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
