An Admissions Counselor serves as a primary recruiter of prospective students to St. Joseph's University, New York.

Responsiblities and Duties

Assist prospective first-year, transfer, adult, graduate and international students through the enrollment funnel.

Manage an assigned recruitment territory

Interview and host prospective students and meet with their families.

Evaluate completed first-year and transfer applications for decision, and assign transfer credit as well as merit-based scholarship.

Counsel prospective students via phone, zoom, email and texting platforms.

Represent St. Joseph's University at on campus and off campus recruitment events.

Act as liaison with departments or projects of assigned special programs.

Assist with various admissions tasks as directed by the Office of Admissions.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements Knowledge, skills and abilities

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Must be able to travel independently throughout New York City. Valid driver’s license preferred.

Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, cycle etc.

Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends.

Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets)

Educations and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree required, plus 1-2 years related experience preferred.
