Job Description and Duties Note:

Under the direction of the District 7 Assistant Division Chief for Program/Project Management, the incumbent serves as Area Manager for the Office of Project Management. Responsibilities include supervising and directing Senior Transportation Engineers and Transportation Engineers in managing projects to meet standards and practices, completing projects on schedule and within budget, and overseeing the entire construction contract lifecycle—scope, cost, schedule, and coordination of work.
Working Conditions This position may be eligible for telework. Telework amount is at the department’s discretion. In‑person attendance may be required for operational needs. The selected candidate must commute to the headquarters as needed. Business travel may be required and reimbursed according to CalHR regulations. All commute expenses are the candidate’s responsibility.

Salary: $13,892.00 - $15,782.00 per month (new to state candidates at minimum classification salary).

Minimum Qualifications
Valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Either:
One year of transportation engineering experience at a senior level in California state service;
One year of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent to a Senior Transportation Planner in California state service and two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher in California state service;
More than five years of transportation engineering experience, with at least two years equivalent in responsibility to a senior level engineer in California state service.
