Overview
Under the general direction of a Principal Transportation Engineer in the Division of Program/Project Management, the Chief of the Project Support Services manages the Consultant Services Unit in District 4. The incumbent leads a multidisciplinary team (engineering and administration) to deliver projects within the Capital Outlay Support framework. Responsibilities include securing resources, overseeing project execution, ensuring staff training, and maintaining delivery commitments. Working Conditions
The position may support telework depending on Caltrans policy. Employees may need to travel to headquarters and perform periodic in‑person work. Business travel and commuting to the ACA headquarters location will be required; travel costs are the candidate’s responsibility. Minimum Requirements
Possession of a valid civil engineer registration from the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. One year of senior level transportation engineering experience in California state service. Or one year of supervisory/managerial experience equivalent to a Senior Transportation Planner in California state service. Or two years of civil engineering work at Associate Engineer level or higher in California state service. Or more than five years of transportation engineering experience with at least two years at a senior level equivalent in California state service. Lifetime eligibility for the California Department of Transportation Managerial Selection Program (MSP).
