American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment in an oncology-focused clinical resource unit requiring Epic, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
Job Details
- Work in a Comprehensive Cancer Center on an inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit,
- Patient population includes a variety of oncology diagnoses across 36-bed units,
- Floating required to MedSurg units including Bone Marrow Transplant, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare,
- Assignments involve heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention,
- Staffing ratios target 1:4, may increase to 1:5,
- Epic EMR experience required,
- Schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts, with day/night rotating schedules available; weekends as needed based on unit requirements,
- No set or blocked scheduling offered, but self-scheduling requests are considered before final posting,
Job Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required and must be in hand at consideration,
- BLS and ACLS certifications required,
- Minimum of 2 years experience at MS level or higher required,
- Oncology nursing experience preferred but not mandatory,
- Epic EMR proficiency required,
- Must have completed nursing education through an ACEN or CCNE accredited program,
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor,
- Former employees must have a 6-month gap before eligibility; current employees at affiliated hospitals ineligible for travel positions,
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include providing care for diverse oncology patient groups and adhering to strict infection guidelines,
- Orientation includes one week of dayshift plus five bedside shifts before working independently,
- First week orientation is Monday through Friday on day shift,
- Strict fingerprinting compliance required as part of onboarding, especially for out-of-state applicants,
- Locals are accepted at the same pay rate,
- Request for time off must be submitted with initial application,
