Job Description
A leading distribution and fabrication company is seeking a Controller to oversee financial and accounting strategy, planning, and performance across the organization. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial leader with deep expertise in forecasting, reporting, and treasury management.
Salary + Additional Benefits:
$160,000-$165,000 + bonus
Location : Houston, TX (NW and South)
Type of Position : Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
* Drive long-term financial forecasting and strategic planning
* Participate in the formulation and administration of company financial policies.
* Support the establishment of long-range goals and organizational objectives.
* Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
* Prepare, analyze, and interpret core financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Manage cash flow through effective accounts receivable and accounts payable optimization.
* Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Benchmark company performance against industry standards and best practices.
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
* Identify and mitigate financial, market, legal, and operational risks.
* Ensure compliance with all national and local financial regulations.
* Secure funding and manage relationships with banks, lenders, and investors.
* Meet regularly with leadership and financial partners to assess financial health, growth initiatives, and capital needs.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and professional development within the department.
* Plan, assign, and direct work; address employee concerns and resolve departmental issues.
* Serve as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
* Provide financial insight and guidance on major initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and business expansion.
Requirements:
* Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, Finance or related field
* CPA plus
* 15+ years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or related areas.
* Proven track record of managing finance operations
* Strong knowledge of GAAP, treasury management, and ERP systems
* Advanced Excel
* Experience in process improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic financial planning
* Improved cash flow, working capital efficiency, and treasury operations
