Locations: Northern Virginia: Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Ashburn, Burke, Falls Church, Manassas, Springfield, Vienna, Woodbridge
Available Shifts: Full Time, Part Time, Weekends
Are you experienced, compassionate, and ready to lead? At CRi , we're looking for a Direct Support Professional II to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities.
As a DSP II , you'll go beyond basic care-you'll mentor, advocate, and help transform lives, all while supporting a team and driving excellence.
What You'll Do:
* Lead and mentor staff during shifts
* Provide direct support based on personalized care plans
* Communicate with families, guardians, and health professionals
* Ensure accurate, timely documentation and progress tracking
* Advocate for individuals at appointments and in the community
* Model professionalism and uphold CRi's core values
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications Required:
* 3 years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
* Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
* Understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with supporting individuals with IDD.
* Familiarity with the Person-Centered Planning process.
* Basic computer skills for documentation, communication and training purposes.
* Ability to cook and manage household tasks.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Completion of at least 50% of DSP (Direct Support Professional) certification.
* Ability to obtain DSP certifications within 90 days of employment.
Working Environment:
* Indoor and Outdoor program site and various community locations.
Supervision Exercised:
* Leadership responsibilities on shifts, including overseeing progress note review, documentation completion, and delegation of tasks.
* Serve as a supportive conduit for individuals and their families/guardians.
* Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to facilitate home life meetings.
