Summary
Maintenance Technician, under the general supervision of the Foreman, maintains all City parks and amenities. This role may require on call/after-hours work including weekends & holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Performs routine maintenance and repairs on all city parks and amenities, including playgrounds, pavilions, restrooms, trails, recreation centers, parking areas, shade structures, and exercise machines
* Inspects park properties and equipment daily, documenting findings, identifying maintenance needs, and reporting issues to supervisor
* Maintains accurate records of equipment checks and work orders
* Removes litter and trash from all city parks to ensure cleanliness
* Assists with construction and fabrication projects as assigned
* Supports city and private special events, including setup, teardown, and cleanup
* Serves as an essential worker, responding as needed during business closures to meet operational requirements
* Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent
* One (1) year of experience in maintenance, construction, carpentry, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
* Two (2) years of experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
* Two (2) years of experience welding, carpentry, basic plumbing, pesticide application, and / or irrigation
Certifications and Licenses
* Valid driver's license
