Bilingual Voter Clerks (Downtown Houston)
Location: Downtown Houston
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (extended hours during election cycles)
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Start Date: January 2026

Openwork is proud to partner with Harris County to recruit motivated and detail-oriented Voter Clerks to support the Voter Registration Division. This role offers a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes of the election process while serving the public and supporting accurate, accessible voter registration services for the community.
Harris County serves one of the most diverse populations in the nation. To better assist voters, we strongly encourage bilingual candidates to apply-especially those fluent in Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese .
As a Voter Clerk, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that directly impact the accuracy and integrity of voter registration records. This is an important, nonpartisan role requiring professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to public service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process voter registration applications, updates, and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
* Review documentation for completeness and compliance with election requirements.
* Maintain and update voter data within county systems.
* Assist voters by phone, email, mail, and in person in a professional and neutral manner.
* Provide clear and accurate information regarding voter registration and related procedures.
* Prepare, organize, scan, and securely file voter records.
* Meet firm deadlines during high-volume election periods.
* Follow all county policies and nonpartisan guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
* High school diploma or GED.
* Minimum of one year of clerical, administrative, or customer service experience.
* Strong data entry and basic computer skills.
* Ability to learn and apply election procedures.
* Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute (skills test required).
* High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
* Reliable attendance and strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred:
* Experience in elections, voter registration, or government services.
* Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese.
* Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
