Patent Agent / Junior/Mid-Level Intellectual Property Associate (Engineering)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patent Agent or Junior/Mid-Level Intellectual Property Associate with a strong engineering background to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, conduct due diligence, and help support our clients in navigating the complexities of intellectual property law.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and file patent applications with the USPTO
* Conduct patent prosecution, including responding to office actions and preparing amendment documents
* Perform due diligence investigations on patents and related intellectual property
* Assist clients in identifying and protecting their inventions and intellectual property rights
* Work closely with inventors and clients to gather necessary information for patent applications
* Monitor and analyze relevant patent landscapes and trends in engineering disciplines
* Support the development of intellectual property strategies and policies
Qualifications
* Juris Doctorate, and advanced degree in Engineering or a related technical field
* Experience in patent application preparation and prosecution
* Knowledge of intellectual property law and USPTO procedures
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A registered Patent Agent or willingness to become registered
