Job Description You report to the Plasma Center Manager and support plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse).
Determine donor eligibility for plasma donation, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
Recognize and manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions on the facility floor, following SOPs for medical emergencies, supporting the development of Center Physician standing orders, and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, donor safety, and eligibility issues.
Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements by occupational health/ER; consult EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations into local pandemic threats in coordination with EHS or Medical Affairs.
Maintain compliance with regulations governing the plasma collection industry and a manufacturing environment; provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) matters.
Qualifications
High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed or certified in the state of assignment.
Current CPR and AED certification.
Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Location & Compensation Location:
USA – WI – Eau Claire
Hourly Wage Range:
$31.92 – $43.89 per hour (actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, and skill set).
