The Role The Propulsion and Reactor Engineering Planning yard (PREPY) Deputy Director will report to and team with the Director to lead E50. Responsibilities may include sharing travel commitments (supplier oversight), leading customer meetings, supporting NAVSEA strategic initiatives, setting department policies, overseeing quality improvement efforts and managing/auditing common procedures.
The ideal candidate should have a broad operational and design engineering knowledge of A1B and A4W propulsion plants. This includes understanding of planning yard and In‑Service Engineering Agent operations.
Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience is greatly desired.
Must Have
Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design
Master’s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
PhD and 4 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
Nice to Have
Experience with A4W and/or A1B propulsion plant engineering or design
Experience managing a major update or change to a new construction CVN or an upgrade to a fleet CVN
Experience working with NNL, BPMI, NAVSEA and Naval Reactors
Experience dealing with lifecycle support of major systems or components
