What You'll Do

Safety is the top core value. Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies.

Installation of structured cabling systems, including all aspects of the installation process.

Read and interpret floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.

Set up copper and fiber testers.

Perform system testing and troubleshooting as required.

Terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot optical fiber and copper installations.

Lead teams of 3–5 technicians and installers to complete project tasks.

Train technicians and installers on tasks and responsibilities.

Develop technicians into lead technicians.

Proactively oversee and lead jobsite organization and housekeeping.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in internal and customer relations.

Excel in technical tasks such as testing and troubleshooting.

Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).

Prohibit overnight travel (range 5–50% depending on region) and be willing to travel as required.

Additional responsibilities as identified and assigned.

What We Are Looking For

High school diploma or GED.

OSHA 30 certification within first two weeks.

Preferred: BICSI Installer 2 (Copper or Fiber) and BICSI Certified Technician earned within 12 months.

2–5 years of structured cabling or related industry/construction experience.

Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.

Ability to identify color codes.

Comprehensive knowledge of structured cabling systems and ability to explain and recommend best practices.

Tool and methodology selection for tasks; ability to coach others.

Good listening and instruction-following skills.

Self‑motivated with excellent work ethic and positive attitude.

Team player with high attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines and work days, nights, and weekends as projects require.

Proactive time management and accountability for safety, quality, and productivity.

Work Environment and Physical Demands The standard work environment is an indoors business office and construction site with moderate noise levels. The role requires sitting, talking, using hands, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds (sometimes 25 pounds). It also involves carrying and climbing ladders up to 20 ft, and operating equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs. The employee may work in tight, confined spaces.
