Job Title SAG Maintenance Worker FT - 2138 at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Saganing Facilities Supervisor, responsible for the upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of the casino and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clean all areas using vacuum sweepers, mops, extractors, buffers, scrubbers, etc.

Clean all restrooms on a scheduled basis.

Empty trash containers and ash trays; transfer waste to compactor/dumpster areas.

Perform basic cleaning and pick up of refuse in high traffic areas.

Clean spills and biohazards on the gaming floor.

Assist in cleaning kitchen areas when needed.

Maintain grounds: lawn care, mowing, flower beds, irrigation, outdoor trash pickup.

Perform snow removal, sidewalks, parking lots maintenance; operating shovels, snow blowers, etc. with forklift operation if licensed.

Maintain plumbing systems: flush valves, faucets, toilets, drains, sinks.

Perform minor carpentry repairs, painting, wallpapering, sanding, caulking, staining in and out.

Replace damaged or soiled ceiling and carpet tiles.

Repair slot machine chairs and reupholster as needed.

Move equipment, furniture, and supplies as required.

Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.

Maintain a pleasant environment: remove clutter, keep work area organized.

Provide excellent customer service and solutions for concerns.

Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold a professional demeanor and image.

The duties are not exhaustive and may change based on needs.

Contacts and Purpose of Contacts Contact departmental associates and management team to communicate daily operational needs and maintain professional contact with guests to ensure a positive experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age.

One year custodial and maintenance experience.

Experience with minor plumbing and carpentry.

Must pass a background check to meet employment eligibility requirements.

License, Certification, or Special Requirements

Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.

Native American preference shall apply.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices.

Knowledge of housekeeping cleaning equipment.

Knowledge of basic maintenance of buildings.

Skill in using cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaner, disinfectants.

Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written directions.

Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals.

Effective communication verbally and in writing.

Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.

Physical Demands

Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers for cleaning duties.

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Frequent reach with arms and hands.

Occasional lift up to 50 pounds.

Indoor and outdoor settings.

Walking, standing in a smoking environment, contact with public.

Exposure to dirt, dust, wet areas, confined spaces; mechanical, electrical hazards.

Exposure to extreme temperatures in boiler rooms, rooftop areas.

Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, cleaning reagents.

Potential exposure to second‑hand smoke, unpleasant odors, blood‑borne pathogens.

May work nights, weekends, holidays, emergencies.

Extended hours and irregular shifts possible.
