Operations Coordinator (K0208020) – Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). This position provides administrative and operational support to senior agency leaders, ensuring smooth daily operations and professional representation.

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 – $21.61 (salary may vary based on education, experience, or qualifications)
Responsibilities
Schedule meetings for Communications Director, Legislative Director, Chief Information Officer, Deputy Secretary for Fiscal Services, and Medicaid External Affairs Director.
Answer the main phone line, greet visitors, and route inquiries to the appropriate staff.
Manage sensitive and HIPAA‑protected correspondence and documents, including logging, tracking, and notifying staff when items are ready for pickup.
Handle communications involving the Governor’s Office and Legislature.
Complete the Executive Matrix report.
Maintain the agency’s phone directory and backup phone lists.
Create templates and documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Publisher.
Coordinate office logistics: onboarding and workspace preparation for new employees, inventory of office and equipment, and coordination with IT to resolve technology issues.
Assist with staff travel arrangements and reimbursements in accordance with agency procedures.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Licensing & Certification: Valid driver’s license (required for operating a state vehicle, private vehicle, or rental vehicle for state business).
Minimum Experience: One year of general office, clerical, or administrative support work in a relevant setting (education may be substituted for experience as determined by KDHE).
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of KDHE Programs.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook.
Strong proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
Experience in the public sector/government.
Administrative support for high‑level/executive positions.
Ability to adapt quickly and prioritize tasks and information.
Project coordination experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
