We are hiring a
Mechanic
for our Kansas City shop immediately. As a Technician, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of children traveling to and from school in our classic yellow buses.
Benefits
$28‑29 per hour, based on experience and qualifications (not flat‑rate)
ASE incentive of $0.25 per hour for each relevant ASE obtained (we pay for training materials and exams)
Monday‑Friday 5:00 a‑2:00 p full‑time shift
Annual allowance for boots and prescription safety glasses
State‑of‑the‑art training programs
Discounts on cell phone plans, cars, and more through the Perk Spot program
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
Complete work orders
Assist with mobile emergency services
Mechanics and technicians are subject to DOT drug testing as a safety‑sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
Mechanic’s tool set
Desire to grow, learn, and develop skills through ASE testing
Commitment to meaningful community impact
Preferred
No college degree (we encourage all qualified candidates)
Military experience
Returnees to the workforce
Looking for hourly (not flat‑rate) work
