Payroll Administration (Arizona & Federal Compliance)
Process payroll accurately and on time in compliance with Arizona wage and hour laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Ensure compliance with Arizona minimum wage requirements and applicable annual updates.
Administer overtime calculations in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and child support orders in compliance with Arizona court and DES requirements.
Process final paychecks in accordance with Arizona final pay requirements for voluntary and involuntary separations.
Coordinate payroll tax reporting and filings for Arizona state withholding, unemployment insurance, and federal taxes.
Support year‑end payroll processes, including W‑2 preparation and distribution.
Timekeeping & Payroll Systems
Maintain and audit employee timekeeping and attendance records to ensure accurate tracking of hours worked, overtime, PTO, and differentials.
Partner with supervisors to ensure timely timecard approvals and corrections.
Ensure compliance with Arizona payroll and personnel record retention requirements.
Generate payroll, labor, and compliance reports as needed.
HR & Benefits Support
Support onboarding, job changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and payroll reconciliations.
Maintain accurate personnel records in compliance with Arizona and federal record‑keeping laws.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, PTO, benefits, and HR policies in a timely and professional manner.
Compliance, Audits & Reporting
Maintain compliance with Arizona employment laws, including wage payment requirements and Arizona Earned Paid Sick Time (Prop 206).
Assist with internal and external audits, including ADES, IRS, and DOL inquiries.
Prepare payroll and HR documentation for audits, investigations, or legal requests.
Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Additional Duties
Assist with HR projects, policy updates, and process improvements.
Provide backup payroll and HR support as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
2–4 years of payroll experience.
Working knowledge of Arizona wage and hour laws, including minimum wage, overtime, earned paid sick time, and final pay requirements.
Experience processing payroll taxes and state withholding for Arizona.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/HR systems.
Preferred
Experience with multi‑state payroll.
HR Generalist experience in addition to payroll.
Experience using
UKG Pro or similar HRIS/payroll systems .
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or related field.
Payroll certification (FPC or CPP).
Experience in senior living, or other highly regulated environments.
