Responsibility:
Work with a multi-discipline engineering team to perform marine and project engineering. Identify proper specifications, codes, and technical documentation, generate accurate and concise technical documentation of issues for communication with the customer, guide production trades to efficient workflows, prepare mechanical drawings of jigs, fixtures, and custom equipment, and manage work to meet project schedules.
Perform mechanical engineering analyses for steam systems, hydraulic systems, pumping / piping systems, HVAC systems, machinery design and layout, process cooling and heating systems, vessel design and construction, inspection and repair.
Conduct inspections of shipboard equipment utilizing a combination of conventional, optical, and laser measurement tools (steel tapes, stick rules, jigs and fixtures, clinometers, theodolites, FARO Ion laser tracker) to determine acceptability for use and safety.
Make recommendations concerning any repairs and/or modifications needed.
Support and develop the generation of mooring and docking plans and calculations including but not limited to trim, stability, hurricane, seismic, and block loading.
Ensure that work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and good marine practice.
Consider safety in all aspects of work and design.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. We may consider a closely related degree.
Four (4) + years related experience including design, construction and commissioning.
Ability to develop and maintain expertise in CADD software for efficient production of engineering work (Autodesk Suite Products including AutoCAD and Inventor or equivalents).
Ability to interface with both production trades and program management as well as customer representative including government Project Support Engineers, Maintenance Activity Engineering and Ship’s force.
Familiarity with shipboard systems and equipment: valves, pumps, AC motors, heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, piping systems, and tanks.
Available to relocate to Singapore for the entire project period.
