This role involves routine, limited, semi-skilled manual labor in the maintenance of City neighborhoods, grounds, and facilities. Responsibilities include cutting grass and weeds, raking grass and trash, trimming and removing trees and shrubs, digging and refilling ditches, loading and unloading trucks, conditioning walls and woodwork before painting, animal recovery, pickup and disposal tasks, light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs, occasionally 80 lbs), minor repairs to sewers, septic tanks, catch basins, and manholes, driving a City vehicle (no CDL required), and washing and steaming vehicles, tools, and equipment in the automotive shop. Essential Position
This position is considered an “Essential Position” for the purpose of Emergency Management. Emergency duties will be assigned as needed. The position requires 24 hours a day, 7 days a week availability during City of Miami emergencies, as determined by City Administrators, Emergency Manager, or City Officials. Minimum Requirements
Six (6) months of experience in performing unskilled labor. A valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized at application, however a State of Florida Driver’s License (Class E or higher) is required prior to appointment and must be maintained valid throughout employment.
