who enjoy working with children and can step into classrooms as needed.
Position Summary The
On-Call Substitute Teacher
provides temporary classroom coverage across multiple age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschool children. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to follow established routines while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on-call classroom coverage in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms
Follow daily schedules, routines, and lesson plans provided by the classroom team
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment at all times
Supervise children continuously to ensure safety
Support daily care routines including meals, diapering/toileting, rest, and transitions
Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior support strategiesCommunicate professionally with staff and leadership
Follow all state licensing regulations, health, and safety procedures
Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness as needed
Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience working with children in a childcare, school, or early learning setting
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Ability to work with multiple age groups
Flexible availability and reliable attendance
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Calm, patient, and professional demeanor
Ability to meet all state and center background clearance requirements
