Security / Loss Prevention Officer - Overnight

Job Description To promote the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and associates, and ensure the policies and procedures of the hotel are maintained in a safe and secure environment. The role requires a Tennessee unarmed security license, Dallas's Law training, and CPR/AED and first aid certification upon date of hire.
Responsibilities
Promote the safety of guests, associates, and hotel property.
Perform security patrols and monitoring of all hotel areas including restaurants, public areas, banquet and meeting spaces, guest floors, associate entrance, parking areas, office back-of-house areas, and hotel exteriors.
Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests.
Monitor closed‑circuit television and alarm systems and supervise the security of the receiving area.
Report all activities during each shift in writing before leaving the hotel and provide oral reports and emergency notifications as directed by established security procedures.
Perform all necessary administrative duties of the Loss Prevention Department, including writing reports, maintaining files, processing work orders, ordering supplies, scheduling, and posting bulletin board information.
Maintain the highest standards of security with a professional attitude, appearance, and application.
Monitor associates entering and leaving the hotel, collect all package passes, inspect parcels taken from the hotel, and monitor the back entrance and receiving dock.
Provide information to personnel entering the hotel and notify the department head of non‑staff personnel after proper identification.
Confiscate unauthorized items and notify appropriate department heads.
Ensure key control program phases are maintained and investigate discrepancies, reporting findings to the Director of Loss Prevention.
Maintain all security equipment, keeping uniforms, radios, cameras, and the SALTO card system clean and functional.
Administer the hotel Lost and Found program and maintain communication with the Director of Loss Prevention.
Perform duties assigned by supervisor and respond to directions from any Executive Committee member or Manager.
Qualifications
One year of experience in a similar loss prevention role is preferred.
Valid Tennessee Unarmed Security Guard License upon hire.
Successful completion of Dallas's Law training prior to hire.
Experience in loss prevention in an upscale hospitality establishment is preferred.
CPR and basic first aid certification.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and general computer use.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods during a full shift.
Repeated motion, including use of telephone and computer, for extended periods.
