Summary of Job Duties
Planning and implementing weekly sessions with students to promote independent learning
Communicating effectively with students and staff
Identifying and addressing study skill needs for students in the context of their tutoring sessions
Preparing and submitting accurate records of sessions with students
Maintaining a high level of knowledge in their academic content area
Knowing and complying with University FERPA, Sexual Harassment, and confidentiality guidelines
Knowing and complying with policies governing the tutoring of student‑athletes in the NCAA
Attending training exercises designed to develop instructional skills and compliance with University and NCAA policies regarding the tutoring of student‑athletes
Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Have earned at least 30 credit hours
Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Earned a B (A preferred) in the classes you wish to tutor
Available at least two evenings each week to tutor (Sunday – Thursday)
Can provide two letters of recommendation, one of which must be a University Faculty/Staff reference who can speak to knowledge and capacity to tutor
Additional Information Pre-employment Screening Requirements: Criminal Background Check, Sex Offender Registry. Graduate students are subject to background checks.
