Sentara RMH Medical Center is currently seeking customer‑service focused
registered nurses
to join our emergency department team. This is an ideal position for RN candidates who enjoy a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Location & Shift City/State: Harrisonburg, VA Work Shift: Third (Nights)
Sign‑on Bonus Up to $20,000 for qualifying candidates. No contract required!
Education & Credentials
Associates Degree – Nursing OR Bachelor’s Degree - Nursing
Registered Nurse licensure
Previous acute‑care experience preferred, but not required
Duties / Responsibilities The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing competent nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care—teaching and health promotion, and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Transition to Practice / Nurse Residency Program (TTP)
Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards via foundational ENO (Elsevier’s Emergency Nursing Orientation) modules blended with in‑person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs
Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence‑based practice guidelines as recommended by the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA)
Hands‑on experience in the ED alongside a trained nurse preceptor
Opportunity to share your experiences and network with peers in a safe, protected environment
A series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses)
