Responsibilities The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in a collaborative partnership with Adult Internal Medicine (AIMS) Triage and Cross Cover physicians, collects, reviews, organizes and reports data from assessments and a variety of other sources to the physician to facilitate appropriate placement of patients and optimize access to hospital resources.
Optimizes physicians' workloads and patient flow by performing patient assessments, accumulating pertinent data, obtaining additional information and tests and starting treatment per Nurse Initiated Protocols, and assigning patients to appropriate physicians for hospital admission or further diagnostic work‑up.
Answers Cross Cover pager and addresses patient concerns, identifying conditions that may result in rapid hemodALENDARsticular deterioration or life‑threatening instability and intervenes appropriately for optimal patient outcomes.
Facilitates patients' safe transition within care settings and across levels of care, including hospital admissions from Emergency Department and transfers to higher level of care.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing
State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
Emergency Department
Experience HIGHLY Preferred
