As part of the hemodialysis health‑care team, provides safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in patient‑care implementation and evaluation, reports and documents incidents or problems, and promotes a clean work environment.
Customer Service

Accountable for outstanding customer service to external and internal customers.
Develop and maintain effective relationships.
Respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues in a timely manner.
Patient‑Related Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care for assigned patients.
Perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed.
Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters.
Report significant information or changes in patient condition to the supervisor.
Assist in teaching plans for patients and families.
Participate in emergency operational procedures.
Administer intravenous medication per physician orders and state nurse practice laws.
Perform and document pre‑, interim, and post‑treatment reviews.
Initiate basic CPR measures in emergencies.
Technical Responsibilities
Safely operate all dialysis equipment according to proper procedures.
Perform minor troubleshooting when necessary.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
Address blood spills per FMCNA Bloodborne Pathogen Control Policies.
Operate all emergency equipment effectively.
Staff‑Related Responsibilities
Participate in staff meetings.
Assist in short‑term and long‑term patient‑care plan meetings.
Acquire knowledge of current dialysis practices.
Act as a resource person for other staff.
Assist coordination of the care plan with physicians, dietitians, and social workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands And Working Conditions Work involves desk and computer work with patient interactions and requires heavy lifting, moving patients, and prolonged standing. Relies on assistance for moving equipment up to 200 lbs and lifting chemical water solutions up to 30 lbs. Required to travel between assigned facilities. Exposure to infectious materials and moderate noise levels may occur.
Education
Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN).
Current state‑appropriate licensure.
Experience and Required Skills
One year of medical‑surgical nursing experience preferred.
Hemodialysis experience preferred.
ICU experience preferred.
Completed training in hemodialysis theory and practice.
CPR certification.
Complete Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire.
Availability for coverage during short‑staffing or as required.
Passes Ishihara Color Blindness test.
Good communication skills.
