What you will do:
Perform MRI procedures and operate scanner/injector systems to produce diagnostic‑quality MR imaging.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and stay current on MR scanner software and equipment.
Apply your knowledge of MR anatomy, pathology, and physiology to support imaging quality.
Provide patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and efficient workflow.
Participate in performance‑improvement initiatives, staff training, and student orientation.
Conduct venipuncture for applicable MRI exams.
Occasionally transport non‑narcotic medications as directed.
Summary Performs all MRI procedures and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the operation of all equipment in the MRI area. Safely operates the scanner and injector in order to produce diagnostic quality MR images. Understands the computer software of the MR scanners and maintains competency in MR area. Consistently applies working knowledge pertaining to MR anatomy and pathology to produce a high standard of quality images while under the direction of a radiologist. Provides appropriate and safe patient care. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Participates in performance‑improvement initiatives. Participates in staff/student orientation and training. Performs venipuncture for appropriate exams. May transport non‑narcotic medications as directed.
Requirements Educational Requirements
Graduation from a JRCERT Accredited or ARRT approved Radiography or MRI degree program.
Radiology or MRI degree graduates accepted.
Experience Requirements
No Experience Required.
State of Florida Licensure Requirements
Florida Radiologic Technologist License for radiology techs only.
MRI degree for non‑radiology techs or AMRIT Registry.
Certifications / Registration Requirements
BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) – Required.
ARRT Registered or eligible – Required.
Additional Requirements for Florida Radiology FRL FLRAD locations
ARRT certification in Radiology AND ARRT certification in MRI Technology OR AMRIT registry is required.
