The surgery center offers exceptional care and outstanding customer service to patients and physicians in the west valley of Phoenix. It is adaptable to all specialties and offers four operating rooms and two procedure rooms. Position Summary This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. The position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction, utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the patient’s physical and developmental age.

Essential Functions

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and post‑operative planning needs; reviews history, diagnostics, laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s).

Formulates and refines a plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and multidisciplinary input, ensuring realistic and measurable goals.

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision; follows physician orders and nursing care plans in compliance with policies, standards of care and regulatory requirements.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revises the plan as needed and collaborates with the team to monitor progress toward goals.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility, timeliness and adherence to policy.

Provides evidence‑based care, participates in research activities, shared leadership, and education and orientation of facility personnel.

Contributes to society through efforts that lead to excellent patient outcomes, including participation in professional organizations.

May provide relief charge for staff and workflow of the department in some locations.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and professional standards.

Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing, or higher, required.

Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.

BLS and ACLS required.

PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned ASC services pediatrics.

Licensed RN with minimum one‑year experience in PreOp/PACU (e.g., ICU, ED) for full‑time; enrollment in Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months for new RNs.

PRN: Minimum two years licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.

Preferred Qualifications

PreOp/PACU licensed RN experience strongly preferred.
