Join Aveanna Healthcare as a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN). This role is part of our expanding Private Duty Nursing team, delivering high‑quality home health care to children with a focus on compassionate, evidence‑based practice.

Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, adhering to the care plan, physician orders, and confidentiality standards.

Essential Job Functions

Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.

Observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to the supervisor or physician.

Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and responses promptly.

Participate in, implement, and update nursing care plans.

Make appropriate nursing decisions based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.

Recognize changes in patient needs and intervene to prevent or reduce risk.

Maintain professional accountability by following Aveanna policies, regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.

Use infection control measures that protect staff and patients, following OSHA standards.

Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, self‑care, and prevention strategies.

Engage in continuing education to maintain competencies in nursing practice.

Qualifications

Active, unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of practice.

Compact license transferred to state of residence within 90 days.

Current CPR certification, with hand‑on component.

TB skin test completed within the last 12 months.

Minimum six months of hands‑on nursing experience, including pediatrics experience.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Unrestricted state license as an LPN in the state of practice.

Current CPR certification.

Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing policies.

Additional State Specific Requirements

South Carolina – 1 year of pediatrics experience.

California – 1 year of experience working under an active nursing license.

Louisiana – 1 year of experience as a licensed nurse.

Continuing education as required by the state.

Preferences

Six months of recent experience as an LPN in a clinical care setting.

Home health experience.

Other Skills/Abilities

Good organizational and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Speak, write, read, and understand English.

Travel and lift 50 pounds.

Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.

Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.

Sit and climb stairs.

Good visual and hearing acuity, as well as sense of smell and touch.

Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations.

Environment

Work in diverse environments, including exposure to allergens and other conditions.

Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
