As a Recreation Lead, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our Summer Adventure Camp, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of youth participants while guidance and support to Recreation Aides. You’ll also assist in planning and running engaging programs and events that meet the needs of our campers.

JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, assists in planning, promotion, development, and implementation of various recreation programs and camps. The purpose of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Summer Adventure Camp including the safety and well-being of youth participants and provide leadership to program staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Job duties and responsibilities as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the typical tasks performed. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties andtlement and may be required to perform related duties as needed.

Assists in the development, promotion, and implementation of diversified recreation programs for all ages in accordance with community needs; evaluates program effectiveness; and recommends changes

Provides day-to-day oversight of recreation programs and staff

Provides direction to lower-level staff to accomplish daily camp activities

Follows and implements Town ordinances, policies and procedures

Opens and secures program areas before and after program use; prepares program areas for scheduled recreational activities and events.

Provides instruction and conducts activities for program participants.

Receives and responds to questions and concerns from patrons; identifies issues and resolves problems or refers to supervisor as appropriate

Assists in fee collection; reviews records and files to ensure proper accounting and documentation consistent with Town policies and procedures

Inspects and maintains program equipment and facility; ensures that maintenance and repair needs are addressed

Maintains accurate and timely records.

Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and mænd.

Assists with Town with special events as needed

Performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

High School Diploma or GED is desired

At least, one year of recreation program and activity experience

American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED is required at time of hire and आसानी से throughout employment

Relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Proper care and use of recreation equipment, materials, and supplies

Occupational hazards and standard safety practices

Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications related to the work

Ability to

Lead lower-level staff and volunteers, including training, work planning, organizing, and scheduling

Lead and conduct assigned program classes or activities

Maintain the safety of program activities and participants

Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner

Perform work as directed in an efficient, effective, safe, and timely manner

Make basic mathematic calculations with speed and accuracy; count money andOtpise money and make change

Respond appropriately to changing situations

Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships

Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Must possess mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. The classification supports indoor and outdoor recreation programs requiring frequent walking, running, conducting exercises, and related physical activities. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, or tools and equipment used in assigned program area. Program activities may require sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; the ability to lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds or higher weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment. Incumbents may be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
