Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician

Amazon is looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Key Job Responsibilities
Move and implement large enterprise equipment
Patch cabling between equipment
Install fiber and copper cabling
Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation
Follow well‑established hardware installation procedures and break‑fix activities
Safely use material handling tools and equipment
Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration and low‑level application interaction
Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment
Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
Move and lift computer equipment up to 40 lbs
Be available to work in an environment that operates 24/7
Up to 20% travel within geographical work area required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally
Physical Requirements
Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch
Work at heights and from ladders
Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more
Must be able to lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances
Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
Push or pull heavy objects into position
Daily travel between sites may be required
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work overtime as required
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
Location: Reston, VA – Salary range: $61,500.00–$86,000.00
