Job Summary The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of company heavy equipment and/or components.

3rd shift: M-F 11p-7a overtime and weekends as needed

Essential Accountabilities

Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment

Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, and scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service

Perform mechanics duties and responsibilities

Perform electrician duties and responsibilities

Mechanic skills including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines

Electrical skills including basic electrical troubleshooting, uploading, saving and changing PLC programs, programming VFDs and drives, running conduit and power to new equipment, replacing electrical hardware

Perform electrical troubleshooting

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance and service

Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC programs

Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities

Perform plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions

Use hand and power tools and material handling equipment

Detect faulty operations and defective material, and report to supervision

Comply with safety regulations, maintaining clean and orderly work areas

Perform other duties as assigned or needed: operating production equipment, stacking, inventory control

Lead by example and help junior mechanics as needed

Participate in extra curriculum (training & development) activity deemed necessary by management

Train colleagues to pass on knowledge and expertise

Learn local and company requirements, rules, procedures, and follow rules; report incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions (SKNA employee safety responsibilities)

Perform other duties as needed by management

Job Qualifications

Fluent in English

Bilingual in Spanish a plus

5+ years manufacturing experience preferably in a paper converting/corrugated environment

Knowledge of basic tools, power tools, electrical meters, pneumatic blueprint reading, hydraulic blueprint reading, electrical schematic reading

Knowledge in the following programs: Lenz Global, RS logic 5,500 and 5,000, Workshop 505, Siemens Step 7

Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Good interpersonal skills

Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude)

Lean Management

Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting

Ability to perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Ability to deal with various situations

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Must be able to perform repairs unsupervised, troubleshoot intermediate electrical issues and repair; must be able to work on mechanical issues and repair.

Physical Requirements To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently.
