Position Summary As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise a team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to our members—providing them with more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets member expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise the entire prepared foods department, facilitating rotation through different fresh areas and managing members’ needs to deliver on the business plan.

Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of floor and back‑room operations, ensuring the prepared foods area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance.

Manage seasonality in production, understanding new products, recipes, processes, and production specifications, prioritizing time between areas.

Collaborate with associates and third parties to ensure the team has resources, share knowledge, and provide training.

Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions.

Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, profitability, a neat and safe work area, appropriate staffing levels, accurate audits, and compliance standards.

Develop and implement processes and practices to meet business needs through collaboration with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.

Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, using the Open Door Policy to address issues.

Lead and participate in teams, sharing resources, information, and tools to determine customer needs and business priorities.

Respect and promote a culture of belonging, supporting associates, and building strong, trusting relationships.

Maintain and promote the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance while supporting Walmart’s regenerative initiatives.

Deliver results while putting the customer first, making decisions based on reliable information and balancing short‑ and long‑term priorities.

Compensation and Benefits Hourly Wage Range: $23.00–$31.00

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

Minimum Qualifications

6 months experience in a fresh production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Successful completion of all required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising a team.

Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
