As a Cheese Shop Lead, you'll lead a well-stocked, well-maintained department, while providing superior customer service. You'll also perform supervisory responsibilities, such as scheduling work and training/developing Partners. Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and customer service. We Are Looking For
an associate's degree or 6 months of related experience
ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Store Lead Operations / Training
May serve as backup to Department Manager and typically works opposite shift to Manager
May help prepare department work schedules
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws
Assists with inventory control; loads, unloads, and moves product
Trains Partners; directs work; addresses complaints; resolves issues; builds/follows up on production plans and their execution
Assists in all technical areas, as needed
Performs Representative / Specialist duties frequently
May oversee a specific area of the business: Cheese Shop
Assists with inventory control, including planning portion of Fresh Production Planner (FPP); follows up on FPP inventory functions; ensures Perpetual Adjustment Walk (PAW) walks are complete
Assists with ordering and event order management (EOMs)
Assists with training on new systems, tools, processes, and product roll‑outs; follows up with Partners as needed to reinforce or retrain
Customer Service / Sales
Provides / coaches on superior customer service
Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge and experience to meet customer needs and build department sales
Merchandises products effectively
Food Safety
Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
Complies with department / Store operating procedures
Cleans / sanitizes sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment
Qualifications
Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school; or
6+ months of related experience / training, or a combination of equivalent education / training
Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training
Additional Skills
Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set‑up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment
Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, production planners, procedure manuals)
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners
Ability to apply common sense / understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Physical Requirements
Function in a fast‑paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks
Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs
Constantly reach at waist, grasp
Frequently stand, walk, stoop
Occasionally reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist, push / pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements
Occasionally be exposed to wet, cold, hot conditions, loud noise
Demonstrate the ability to lift 55 lbs, and manage in excess of 65 lbs
Measurements: Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8‑hour day; Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8‑hour day; Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8‑hour day
It is Partners' responsibility to never lift beyond their own safe lifting limit. If an item is too heavy to lift, push or pull, or carry, the Partner must break the box down into lighter, smaller, more manageable components, or ask for assistance from another Partner or a manager.
