Job Description
The Sprinkler Fitter will install, maintain, and repair automatic sprinkler systems, working with pipes, fittings, valves, and other components to ensure proper installation and functionality. Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine the layout and installation of sprinkler systems. Measure and cut pipes to the required length, and install them using various fittings and connectors. Install valves, alarms, and other components of the sprinkler system. Test the system for leaks and ensure proper operation. Perform routine maintenance, replacing worn or damaged components as needed. Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems, identifying and recommending solutions to complex problems. Communicate with customers and stakeholders to provide project updates, answer questions, and resolve issues. Ensure compliance with local, state, federal codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including labor and materials costs, and prepare reports as needed. Follow all safety protocols, maintaining a safe working environment at all times. Demonstrate high organization, motivation, and teamwork. Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3 years of independent field experience. Experience with fire protection systems and components. Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail. Valid driver’s license. Positive attitude and willingness to obtain progressive certifications and required NFPA permits. Intermediate sprinkler layout understanding preferred. Ability to complete maintenance and work records accurately and promptly. Willingness to work hard and learn. Ability to complete all required paperwork. Excellent customer service skills. Problem‑solving skills both independently and as part of a team. Capacity to work with minimal supervision. Practice safe work practices per OSHA requirements. Self‑starter mentality. Physical Requirements
Capable of carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings. Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications. Ability to work flexible hours. Benefits
