Salary $11,437.00 – $14,315.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Location 33 Depot Street, Colfax, Placer County, CA

Responsibilities Under the direction of an Area Construction Manager and a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent acts as an Area Construction Engineer, supervising various classifications of engineers and support staff, administering construction projects throughout the region, and may also serve as a Resident Engineer on large or very complicated projects. The area of work changes periodically, depending on the workload between the North, West, South, and Southeast Construction Management areas. The Area Construction Engineer maintains liaison with Cities, Counties, Regional Agencies, Forest Service, Federal Highway Administration, and other entities; conducts field reviews for contract compliance; monitors the status of construction projects; and is responsible for efficiently constructing quality facilities within the designed cost, scope, and schedule for delivery.

Qualifications

California professional licensed engineer (PE) with current driver’s license.

Valid Professional License issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required, 2 pages maximum, 12‑point font, addressing the following questions:

Please describe your ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships within the department and with external partners.
