Summary Direct and coordinate the daily activities of the Shipping and Receiving operations which includes supervision of department staff and the receiving, shipping, storage, distribution, systems administration, and inventory of company product.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Coordinate the scheduling of department personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to receive and distribute product/materials in a productive and cost‑efficient manner.
Manage dock and verify all inbound and outbound shipments.
Ensure the accuracy of shipments of all customer orders and the timely distribution of orders to maximize customer service.
Verify incoming and outgoing orders against appropriate documents.
Train personnel on procedures and ensure employees assigned to operate lift equipment are properly trained and licensed.
Maintain safety program to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees within regulations of all OSHA, local and state laws.
Responsible for monthly inventory counts and end‑of‑year inventory audits.
Troubleshoot system issues.
Communicate with production on materials needed.
Accountable for the compliance, verification, and implementation of food safety and regulatory requirements, quality systems, and product specification.
Inbound: Oversee inbound shipments of raw material.
Troubleshoot system issues with receiving product.
Check inbound shipments for OS&D – file claims with vendors if needed.
Manage inventory/capacity.
Complete receiving paperwork, submit daily.
Outbound: Set up outbound orders daily.
Coordinate with Dallas on trucks and quantities shipping out.
Manage inventory – shipping in rotation, orders, coordinate with production on product needed for shipments.
Verify order accuracy.
Set up trucks and shipments for off‑site storage.
Complete outbound paperwork, submit daily.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Exercise the usual authority of a supervisor in relation to hiring, training, performance management, merit recommendation and terminations.
Responsible for managing employee hours and approving weekly time for non‑exempt personnel.
Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
Education And/Or Experience
BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in logistics and/or shipping and warehouse departments with progressive responsibilities.
Computer/Software And Training
Working knowledge of computer operations and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe).
Warehouse equipment such as forklift, stand‑up lifts, pallet jack.
