Job Summary
Work as part of an agricultural rehabilitation service delivery team to arrange and deliver services that will enhance program participant (rural residents in agricultural areas) opportunities to continue working in agriculture. Assist with established program protocol to help consumers acquire skills and knowledge to reduce barriers and to continue working, including education Assistive Technologies, vocational rehabilitation services, injury and chronic illnesses (including mental health). Follow standard practices to maintain up-to-date casefiles; participate in state‑wide outreach activities, including delivering presentations, trainings, workshops; assist in marketing CalAgrAbility; assisting researching for producing newsletters and other educational materials.

Minimum Qualifications
Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
Associate Degree in Public Health, Agriculture, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Communication, Human Development or related field.
Continuing education in related field required.
Minimum of 1 year experience providing one‑on‑one navigation support including intake or working in a support role. Experience conducting client assessments, outreach, speaking in groups in person and through a virtual platform such as Zoom. Experience in event planning or community engagement experience.
Documentation and data‑entry skills (case notes, reports). Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA knowledge helpful). Public speaking or group facilitation skills. Ability to work in teams and independently. Knowledge of California's agricultural background. Understanding of basic principles in chronic illness, disability, mental health. Ability to work with different agricultural production populations and service providers.
Agricultural health and safety experience. Excellent public speaking and writing skills in both English and Spanish.

Department Overview The Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering is dedicated to advancing the discipline of biological engineering and conducting research across its diverse applications. Biological engineering - also known as biological systems engineering - integrates life sciences with engineering principles to deepen understanding and application of biological systems, from the molecular to the ecosystem level. We discover, develop, apply, and disseminate knowledge to enable the sustainable production, management, and use of biological materials, while educating students to excel in these endeavors.
The mission of CalAgrAbility is to help individuals working in agriculture that have permanent conditions or injuries that hinder their efforts to continue working on farms. CalAgrAbility works with farmers, agricultural workers, and farm families. Other consumers include the broader community and service agencies that serve the same consumer base. The project goal is to examine problems at farm sites and in homes and to offer rural consumers (clients) potential solutions for navigating conditions that make it difficult for farmers and agricultural workers to continue work in agriculture. CalAgrAbility staff offers direct service to all individuals and families working in agriculture to help eliminate barriers for those with disabilities and injuries. Staff also lead statewide outreach and education on farm stress.
